forever young

This is my utter most favourite song at the moment, much more meaningful than that ‘I hope you dance’ song (if you are a scrapbooker you might know what I mean).

I had only until recently heard the Bruce Springsteen version and did not “hear” the lyrics, on my quest for new Meat Loaf I saw he did a version, had to get that and then I got the original too. One happy girl πŸ™‚

Going shopping/socialising at Scrap That later today since they have a 35% off sale today πŸ™‚ not that I have much money but I do need to get some supplies for a couple of projects I am working on. Sean’s family is hosting a trivia night tonight, can’t wait for that, going to be a blast, hanging out with Emma (Sean has netball games for the most part tonight), drinking, eating, having fun. Then tomorrow is Cricket, will the Giant Killers continue their winning streak and out bat and out bowl “Have A go”? Cricket is always good for me, I take along my uni work and get a lot of reading done – in this case my reading is research on my current assignment “Changing values in Thai society”. The best part of the weekend? I get to have the silver bullet for the whole weekend!

Forever Young

Bob Dylan (covered by many, Meat Loaf does the best cover)

May God bless and keep you always,
May your wishes all come true,
May you always do for others
And let others do for you.
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

May you grow up to be righteous,
May you grow up to be true,
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you.
May you always be courageous,
Stand upright and be strong,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

May your hands always be busy,
May your feet always be swift,
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift.
May your heart always be joyful,
May your song always be sung,
May you stay forever young,
Forever young, forever young,
May you stay forever young.

visiting grandad

This evening, Pabbi, Matthew and I visited Grandad at the hospital. I took along this layout, to stick up on his wall. He is doing well I think. It was fun spending time with him, doing the trivia and word meaning questions in the latest digest. He might go home on Saturday, or it might be longer just a case of waiting and seeing. He seems no different from what I am used to, very much ready to go home though πŸ™‚

After visiting Grandad, I popped over to Sean’s place since it is 5 mins down the road, shortly after my arriving I was greeted by someone who has watched way too much Girl Fight and Million Dollar Baby ( both movies that I love though). You know who you are, and if I get a video clip of your "fighting" it is going up here πŸ™‚

does this come in pink?

Canon 300D/350D – with some "make-up" on. Ohh I could go a dark pink or perhaps even a candy pink to match my shoes or wallet. IF/when I buy a second SLR, so having the back-up air-brushed. mmmm so so pretty.

organising, sorting and throwing.

It must be the weather or my avoidance or impending assignments but sheesh my room and computer are looking good. In the past couple of weeks…

I have thrown out probably 3 armfuls of paper consisting of old paper work and junk mail that I had kept (I used to seriously collect junk mail).

I have cleaned out drawers, my wardrobe, my desk etc and taken out many bags of rubbish.

Sean made me a little bedside cupboard which I use as an entry cupboard at TAFE last year, the top was covered in my work gear, daily essentials etc, well I went through it all and moved it into the draw in the cupboard, the top is now reserved for my flowers and important, cherished things.

I have filed and sorted all my paperwork in preparation of tax time.

I finally organised my finances on the computer, now I can really track my cash purchases – where I spend/loose the most.

I went through the recent mp3’s I have gotten and filed them out.

I have sold my old CM stickers, got a good wad of paper to donate to somewhere when I find a place.

I have sorted out my creating stuff.

I have put completed layouts in albums or sleeves, though I do need to buy more albums.

I cleaned/put structure in my desk, removed all the piles of paper, scrubbed it clean, it looks fresh:)

I have started cleaning out my computer – an on going project. Renaming and filing files.

Feeling good, Feeling more in control. Now if only those essays would start themselves.

an update on Grandad

From what I understand, there is nothing overly to be worried about him, just he is getting old. The black out is possibly due to any matter of things – low blood sugar levels, his bad cold he has and his medication. He was moved to Greenslopes yesterday to be monitored for 24hrs and then decide what to do from there. He is now going to stay at Greenslopes for a couple of more days so they can keep an eye on him.

"The professor" is quite interested in his case as he has had no damage caused from his black-out, he didn’t fall out of the chair during his sleep(which is so lucky, since his skin is so frail). Again from what I understand, a pacemaker may be the go soon.

Thanks for your support.

Meat Loaf

no not the meal (never had it) but the artist. For the last 50 mins I have had “I’d do anything for love on repeat, it was on the radio when I was on my way home from work and then I just had to listen to it. I often wish now that I had forked out the money to see Meat Loaf when they toured a while back but hey that is life. Meat Loaf just makes me jump round the room with an air guitar, blasting out the words.

A random Meat Loaf memory, the first night I went to Sean’s place, Michael (Sean’s littler brother who needs a hair cut or at least a trim), put on an Meat Loaf CD, loaded up “Bat out of Hell” and started thrashing round the room, asking me what I thought of Meat Loaf, I of course replied I love him, who couldn’t. Nothing like some Meat Loaf on the night you meet the family.
