giggling gertie

That is what I am at the moment.
You see I was meant to start work at 5am this morning like I do every monday to put up the new price tickets in the dairy section so all shoppers are happy, knowing they have the right price for their milk and frozen veg. All well and good I double checked my alarm making sure it said 4:25am and it was on buzzer because the radio never wakes me up.

However, did I check to see if the time was right? nope my clock was twelve hours ahead! Yesterday in my cleaning, I had knocked the alarm cord out replugged in pretty close to midday so it was only “5 mins” out when I fixed the time last night, I had said to myself when I sat down to do it, have to change it from am to pm. Did I though? Nope.

So when Mum woke me up at 10 to 7 and I rang work, I sure gave them all a fit of giggles over my tale of my alarm clock and I crashed back to bed giggling my head off πŸ™‚

So to give you the giggling gerties here are some things to share.

– This ad, whilst been one for an Australian beer is not just for the beer drinkers, this is for everyone, an utter crack-up of an ad, some of you have seen it, some have not. I still watch it every couple of days.

Rare Exports Inc by – Another ad for adult beverages, this one however was designed for the launch of a new pre-mixed drink in Finland was shown before movies in the cinema. . Note it is a large (66mb) download but so, so worth it.

Something for those with lower back tats – – Another total crack up.

– The plates and mixing spoons were in out saturday paper, which Mum and I fell in adoration for and then on the website they have pj’s! So want some of them

a modest day

The hardest thing about this thing is coming up with a post title but by all means it was a modest day.

I want to thank you all for sweet comments, emails, IM’s etc etc πŸ™‚

I arrived home from an enchanting concert last night to find my birthday present from my parents spread over my bed – Paisley by Esprit along with a gorgeous card from a local gallery in the city – Gallery M. I had tried to talk Mum into changing my bed covers whilst I was sleeping but she was not that enthused πŸ™‚ Matthew has ordered me an All-American Rejects shirt from InterpunkCoy Fish < = how cute is it? I by no means was spoilt with lavish gifts wrapped with ribbon but since it was my birthday that I meant I got out of jobs round the house today - no washing up πŸ™‚ Then this arvo I webcammed with Hayley (and Pete) - so much fun, she showed off the utterly cute baby stuff she had got today and I showed off my new sæng cover and pillow case. That girl is a barrel of laughs. Watched on the TV tonight with Pabbi, Michael Caton is a crack up. Had the sweetest phone call from Toti, one of my bigger brothers wishing me Happy Birthday and in all the excitement of him ringing I forgot to ask how Anna and the kids were!

Since Matthew doesn’t finish work till 6 on a Sunday night, it made it a bit hard to go out, so Mum made chocolate mousse for dessert πŸ™‚ We plan on going out for Mexican tomorrow night πŸ™‚

Mousse

For the rest of the day I spent my time like I tend to on other events in life and I cleaned my room, this time my wardrobe and entry table as well as rewiring some connections in my computer and finished editing the photos I need to get printed from my Iceland trip.

last day of the teens

Tomorrow marks the day that I get bumped up into the 20something age bracket, no longer will I be a teenager.

In my own celebration in a couple of hours I am heading off the The Zoo to see The Mountain Goats and The Zebra’s. Going to be an interesting night out, going to a concert by myself, I have been to more classical concerts in concert halls by myself before but not a dark, night concert. That is what growing up is all about πŸ™‚

Not much planned for tomorrow, got a lot of readings to be done but we are having chocolate mousse for dessert and going out for tea on Monday night.

escape.

Yesterday was by no means the nicest day.

From all the essays and work I have handed in over the last two and half years of uni, I have always felt that the mark I received was the mark I deserved. However that all changed yesterday.

I received an essay back for which the lecturer gave me 65/100. His first reason was that my essay is pieced together with notes from first year International Relations and those had no relevance to the topic of my essay. WTF? My essay was on “Why is war such an endemic part of international life?” IR theory on state sovereignty/anarchy, the images of war, etc sure as hell are relevant to the topic. Yeah, so relevant that he talked about them in his lecture on war, Good Job Matey πŸ™

As well him saying that my references are a bit old. Let me see, from the nine references I had the dates were as follows; 1991, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2004 and ND Γ’β‚¬β€œ over half are since 2000!

Going to see him next week to hopefully get a re-grade, because I am not happy Jan!

Then I came home with a shocking headache from lack of water.

Home life is not something that I really talk about here because it is not something I want to broadcast to the masses. Days when Mum is away are always hard because as much as we disagree over things she in the end grounds me. Last night was not nice but I did better than I normally do and kept my mouth shut for the most time. With all those feelings in my mind of just wanting to escape away from it all, this layout appeared πŸ™‚

new and old layouts

Compared to most people I am really slack about either scanning layouts in or posting them on 2peas, lately I have been *trying* to get more work up, this of course means that one layout I post I may have done yesterday, the next one I may have done five months ago – I said I was slack πŸ™‚ So here are the recent layouts I have posted no always the most recent I have made. Click to see them bigger and any questions you have, just ask πŸ™‚

a whole collection of random stuff

1. I have been looking at subjects for next year and by doing 5 subjects in first semester instead of the usual 4 and 4 in second semester I will grab myself a double major – . Which, hopefully will increase my job prospects. Yeah!

8. A couple of weeks ago on NSBR there was a thread on Jung-Myers-Briggs Personality types. I found the thread long after it died but I was still intrigued. I did the test and found out that I was . Whilst getting books from the library for my last essay I picked up by David Keirsey and did more reading than what I had already done on the web. Things started to make more sense, I was able to understand some of the ways I did things and why I always think why can’t other people see this or think this way. Percentage of INTJ in the population? 2% of men, 1% of women.

16. I got a , it is no Bentley but it does what it was designed to. Now I can dance along with to crazy songs from the 80’s.

5. Chick Flicks or dodgy teen flicks, I have quite a weakness for. Ever since seeing 10 Things I Hate About You (for which Matthew and I have seen oh at least 20 times), I have thought that Julia Stiles is pretty rocking, so whilst creating about today I watched The Prince and Me, also picked up a Kirsten Dunst fix watching Wimbledon and then of course Bring It On was on TV tonight, yep total sugary goodness, but hey being the Buffy fan I was seeing Eliza Dushku is always fun and really Jesse Bradford, do I need to say more?

22. Tomorrow morning; Mum, Pabbi, myself and maybe but probably not Matthew are heading to the farm for breakfast at 6:30am, only a 30minute drive at that time of the morning. My aunt Susan and have spent the last 17 days on a 60th Anniversary Commemorative Tour of Singapore and Thailand for POW’s. Grandad spent most of WWII as a POW of the Germans. Can’t wait to hear his stories of the sights they saw.

3. My fingernails are full 4mm long and I can’t believe they have lasted this long! Normally they get pretty trashed at work but for some reason they are fighting back against those cardboard boxes. I love the clicking sound they make πŸ™‚

6. Chatting to friends via IM, since early high school when we were all crazy over ICQ and then migrated to MSN Messenger, which is joined now by Yahoo and Google Talk. I have spent hours some nights chatting away, it sure is cheaper and quieter than the phone, though family reactions when you crack up in front of the computer screen is funny. To the girls and guys from school and uni to the scrapping girls and family. IM rocks πŸ™‚

and I think that is enough random thoughts for today.
