what a weekend

Peter ad Simone Friday night saw Sean’s littlest brother, Peter attend his highschool formal at Snug Harbour. He went with a girl from work who as you can see in the picture was wearing the most devine red dress.
Formal dresses sure have changed a lot in the three years since I had my formal, my favourite dress however was a simple tea length, empire, strapless pink dress that was so utterly simple and sweet it was gorgeous. Karen and I had fun scooping out the dresses and commenting 🙂 After the pre drinks for the parents were over Sean, his parents and I headed out to dinner at local deli-cafe a yummy dinner where I had the most gorgeous chicken risotto.

super sam helen and sam Sam and Cake

Saturday, my best uni bud Sam turned 20, so Sean and I headed over to her place for a celebration, in which Sean was the only guy as Cory had piked on us, I demonstrated my uncanny ability to navigate my way through the waterfall cardmaze numerous times in a row (a fun game that involves cards laid face down in a 1-2-3-4-3-2-1 pattern, where the player has to go from one end to the other stopping on each level once and not landing on a face card, if a face card is landed on, new cards are delt over the failed route and the player has to take a drink). Sam donning her Super Sam costume that was given to her with a list of rules for what she must do on her birthday night out. A very nice cake with a Care Bear candle finished the night off.

Mick and Sean scoring Sunday, saw the Giant Killers play The Cricket Team in the Warehouse C2 south cricket semi-final and I am extremely pleased to say that the Giant Killers won, beating a team that has been undefeated the entire season and has regulary walloped the oposing team very well. Sean may be providing his first cricket report on wednesday if the stats are up on the website.

new books but old friends

Borders is always so good to me and today was one of those days, as it was the final day of the 20% off promotion for students and teachers that they have two or three times a year and the best part? Getting the voucher that gives you 25% off one item next week and I also have a 15% ISTC voucher on my desk as well 🙂

new books, old friends. Buying those books that I have borrowed from the library time and time again.
Spice Notes by Ian Hemphill. The herb and spice bible, when I get to Sydney in the near future I am making a stop at the Herbie shop 🙂

The Journey is the Destination by Dan Eldon This book pushed me to where I am now scrapbooking it showed me a whole new world in doccumentation.

What new books or old friends have you picked up recently?

after the change

I arrived at the salon yesterday round about 4:30pm and walked out pretty much 2 hours later. I received more than twenty-two foils, a fair cry from the six I had done for the formal in 2002. Which was the first and until now the only time I had, had a professional dye job. On two occasions previously I had dyed it at home with the 6-wash stuff. It didn’t just stop with the foils, after they were all folded up and looking pretty on my head, out came the bowel of 773 to give some oomph to my natural colour.

Kaliope had made sure to pick a colour that requires little care because she knows me 🙂 I am not one to spend anytime on preparing myself for the day, I need something that can get up and go with me 🙂

Then I sat under the heat thing that looked like an alien waiting for the colour to set and having some more quality gossip time with Kaliope. How us girls, had changed since High school, a mere 2.5yrs ago, both of us loosing weight, her relaxing and me becoming more girly (all about the pink) and as well as the rest of us growing up and developing into who we are today.

Then all of a sudden it was all done after the rinse out and drying and some halo shine to finish it all off. I love it so much!!

before the change

Well this afternoon I did the unseen, I went to visit Kaliope at work and had magic worked on my hair, I can’t take a photo till tommorow when there is light but let me just say they were the greatest two hours of the day, chatting to Kaliope whilst having my hair done, sitting under a very weird heat setting contraption and having fun.
I leave you with this picture, what my hair looked like – after the cut in London but before the magic of this afternoon.

At home

Yesterday Matthew and I arrived home.
Relativley un-eventful flight, watched a couple of movies, played some blackjack and poker, looked down over the sea and land, deciding where we were and then confirming it with the map on the tv, playing with my camera taking long exposures.

Sean picked us from the airport, then we were homeward bound, looking at the sights, seeing what had changed. After putting on some washing, I headed back to Sean’s place to get ready for a day at the races – Brooke had given us member’s and gate entry passes, so we were able to enjoy the day in resonable style, placing bets with Brooke’s father or the counter in the bar, cheering on the horses, consulting the form guide to decide the best choice and then sometimes winning 🙂 A very, very fun day out until the flight caught up with me and I started falling asleep on my bar stool :O, After the last race of the day, Sean and I decided to skip dinner out and just go home so I could sleep and sleep I did for 12hrs or so.

Today was cricket as usual and a fun day it was, apart from the fact that it was the semi-final (they lost), Brooke, Emma and Donna all came out for the afternoon when the boys were batting, I had gone and vistited Barb and her family while they were fielding. So a girlish afternoon was had in the very warm winter sun.

Just had dinner, dreading going through my photos tommorow and heading off to bed.
