The Wedding

Well I’m back in Brisbane for about 24hrs before jetting off to Japan tomorrow morning. The wedding was fantastic on the weekend. It was a wedding that very much fitted the bride and groom (my cousin Erica and her now husband Ash). The wedding weekend was at Coles Bay in the Freycinet National Park area of Tasmania. It was where Erica and Ash decided to get engaged a couple of months ago and a place where they’ve spent a lot of time.

3 pictures for now because everything else will have to wait till I get back from Japan.

This photo just about sums up the wedding 100%. The beach, playing in the water, having a picnic and a wedding as well.

and the cake, mmmm flourless chocolate cake and a very very good one at that. With the mountains of Freycinet in the background

Vidya and Abhi, continued

A little later than I expected to post these photos but better late than never. As per usual I pulled out the trusty assistant cap for Vidya and Abhi’s wedding with Tim at the start of the month. The wedding/reception/celebration took place at a new function venue run by the Logan City Council on Clarks Rd, we then moved on to UQ where Vidya and Abhi’s relationship blossomed. Here is a selection of my photos, I still smile when I think about all that colour!

An Indian Wedding

Vidya and Abhi (by HelenPalsson)

Today, Tim and I had an early start for a Wedding that was very different to anything we had done before. Now every wedding is unique but this was Unique. We started the day with Vidya getting ready at 0830 and finished up at UQ about 1730. The above photo is just a sneak peak but there was colour, dancing, lots of people, food and happiness. I am looking forward to going through the rest of the photos in the next couple of days and I will be sharing more πŸ™‚

a wedding at The Glen

Last Saturday I went to another wedding (surprised? lol no) with Tim. A nice casual laid back affair at the semi-local hotel for the couple The Glen Hotel

This photo cracks me up no end.
Sibling relations
It is like, the little fella is going, no way am I wearing that bow tie, can’t you see the look I am going for here? Hands in pocket, the top buttons undone? all I need now is a pair of sunnies. Then I would be beyond cool.

in their own world
Or this one, all three doing their own thing and the smoke alarm with a missing battery.

Making the Bouquet
There was a fair bit of diy at this wedding and as Tim and I arrived at the house, they were all busy doing the flowers.

Or this one, they have just signed the marriage certificate and check out the face on their daughter πŸ™‚ They were such a happy family it was a crack-up.

one fine car
Is this car not a beauty?

These two photos are probably my favs, Tim was taking a few family shots and whilst we were trying to muster them, I grabbed these two. I look at them and keep on laughing at the kids trying to escape, the father telling the family to behave as you will treasure these photos in years to come.

Wedding Weekends

The last two weekends I have been smoothing dresses, toting camera bags, playing light stand, changing memory cards and taking the odd photo at two weddings with Tim Harris oh and having a total ball of a time as well πŸ™‚

Wedding 1, was a small affair at Woody Point on a gorgeous blue sky day.

Wedding 2, was a slightly larger affair at Pacific Harbour Golf Club on Bribie Island on an overcast rainy day.

I know, I know, I know, total lack of words, some wordy posts are coming I have some big news but you all only come for the pictures anyway right?

Australia Day Celebrations

2 Countries, 2 Hemispheres, 2 very different days.

Karl, like the typical Aussie Expat hosted a very fancy Australia Day Beach BBQ in Reykjavik. It was 1 degree above freezing. Still they had a beach, a flag, a bbq, Vegemite, three different types of Karl’s very own beer on tap. The photos are a hoot!

Helen, was assisting at her first wedding for local wedding photographer Tim Harris. It was 31 degrees in the shade at the Bride’s house. I had a great day though, holding flashes, cameras, flowers etc etc and taking a few photos as well. The whole bridal party were a great group and I enjoyed the day, though I was pretty buggered when I got home. πŸ˜€ I also hit the 10k mark on the 5d at about 1:59pm. She was 159 days old yesterday.

Australia Day also means the Triple J Hottest 100. Only two of the songs I voted for made it into the hottest 100, a couple of the other artists I voted for made into the list but not with the songs I voted for.
56 Xavier Rudd Better People
68 Ben Kweller Penny On The Train Track
I had a much higher hit rate on the Triple Zed Hot 100. Like getting I think five out of the top ten songs.
